Fall Fun

Fall fun is all around our house this time of year! Having fires in the firepit...
 ...and of course, S'mores!
To raking a leaf maze in the front yard! Trigg put this together with the help of the neighborhood kids...pretty impressive!
Then we made it into a big pile...
and jumped till we were tired!
We carved some pumpkins for Halloween!
Cut the top to get to the guts!
G pulling open the top...
and the guts!
Trigg digging into his pumpkin!
GUTS!!!
Blythe carving her pumpkin
Focused on their work
G getting some help from Mom!
Trigg wanted to carve his pumpkin all by himself...he did a great job!
Garrett had a different idea for his pumpkin/jack-o-lantern
A football!
B's completed jack-o-lantern
Trigg's finished work...looks a little like him!
And lit up ready for Halloween!
Trigg wanted to be a Lego Man for Halloween this year...so I got to work with some carboard boxes and a cement footer tube. Mocked up and ready for paint!
Painted. I didn't like how you could see his eyes...so i took some old screen that I had an taped it inside the Lego head.
And we have ourselves a Lego Man!
Testing out the head
G wanted to try it too!
B wanted to be a princess...and we already had a Rapunzel dress, with temps dropping into the low 20's we bundled up for trick-or-treating!
Ready to roll; Lego Man, Rapunzel and Iowa Hawkeye football player!
It was freezing but we made it around the block and got plenty of candy!
What do you get when you cross a fish with an elephant....

Swimming Trunks!

Center Grove Orchard

It is becoming a fall tradition that we head to Center Grove Apple Orchard to pick pumpkins, apples and have fun on a farm! Pro tip - go during the week and buy tickets in advance online, $2 off!
The first stop is the corn pool!
Last year B wasn't too sure about the corn, this year she loved it!
All three kiddos jumped right in!
 So much fun!
 Swimming in corn!
Then it was off to the little pedal tractors...
and then the big pedal tractors!
 These things are awesome!
And for the first time, both boys could fit on there by themselves!
 Don't forget the giant slide!
New this year, the hay mountain!
We took a ride on the train and Trigg got to ring the bell!
Off to the apple orchard to pick some apples
 So good!
...and then it started to rain. The boys pulled their hoods up and laid on a bench while we waited for the hay rack ride...they thought it they can't feel the rain then they must not be getting wet...
Next stop, the pumpkin patch. G pushed the wheelbarrow with our three pumpkins!
One more jump in the corn pit on our way out!
It's always so much fun to play at Center Grove, their apple donuts are amazing and freshly picked apples are always a hit!

8 is Great - Trigg's Bday

Our Trigg turned 8 and wanted to celebrate with a LEGO themed party! 8 is great or maybe I should say awesome...Everything is Awesome!!!
Jumbo LEGO blocks at the front door!
Heather did an awesome job with the LEGO block cake...using Oreo's for the circles on top! I built the cake stand from LEGO's too!
 Decorated and ready to party!
 Even the fruit spells LEGO!
 Happy Birthday Buddy!
 The party crew has arrived
First challenge, LEGO building a car to race down the track
Must have wheels, steering wheel and a driver!
Camden testing his race car! We then did a head to head bracket to see who's car would be the champ!
We then opened presents and had some cake!
Followed by a LEGO scavenger hunt, I hid 9 different creations around the yard...this boat was in our neighbors Koi pond!
The boys finished with a Ninjago obstacle course and then we called it a day!
That evening, family came over to celebrate as well. We had a building contest with candy blocks!
 Happy Birthday Trigg!
It's hard to believe you are turning 8 already! You are a fine young man and we are proud of you!
