Week in Review (a couple weeks)

I dropped the ball with the updates last week...oh well, on we go!  We have a fun Valentines dinner with special guests: 2 little dudes and 1 young lady!  Chad and Shay were in town and went out for dinner so we offered to have dinner with their kiddos too!  Heather put together some great "goodie" bags for the kiddos to take home with them!
Fun-fetti cupcakes complete with pink frosting!
Heart cut sandwiches, strawberries, carrots and chips...who wouldn't love it!
Even small sandwich for the little ones!
Camille was excited for supper!
Nathan, at the table and ready to eat!
Aaron, enjoying his food!
Trigg enjoying all the company at the dinner table!
Here I am enjoying a great spread!
Mom, decked out in pink for V-day!  We had a lot of fun celebrating Valentines day.
Trigg keeps getting taller, but can still fit in his "fort" under the table.
Trucks, trains, cars...all can join in the fun in the fort!
Bathroom project is making headway...floor is installed and toilet is back in and working!
Vanity, counter top, sink and mirror are also installed, hooked up and working!  I finished painting and now it is on to the shower!
Heather had the idea of making "Our House Rules", she found this chalk board at TJ Maxx (yes she is a Maxxenista) and we put this together the other night.
Trigg keeps learning new tricks everyday...his latest uses this squishy green golf ball...
...and he figured out how to hold it with his teeth!
Well, that sums up our week, can't believe that we are into the last week in February...hopefully spring is right around the corner!

Week in Review

Welcome to February!  Hard to believe that January has come and gone...hopefully spring is right around the corner.
The bathroom project continues this week...Trigg is being a big helper with the new vanity!
"Let's get this thing installed Dad!"
All tuckered out from running errands with Mom....
...time to catch a quick nap on the couch!
Rockin' the jammies and playing with my cars, doesn't get much better than that!
Vroom, vroom!
Thursday morning it was -6 degrees with a wind chill of -20...too cold.  Our storm door got ice crystals all over.  Here is a picture looking out the front door window, I don't know about you, but I saw a cross made from the ice!
Saturday morning, Mom went to help Grandma Doreen with a meeting so Trigg and I had a "Dudes" morning...and what do two guys do on a cold morning?  We had a car show!
We got all the cars lined up: race cars, tractors, dump trucks, trains...
What a show!
The Dudes
Trigg has really taken a liking to his books lately (even more than normal).  I got him up from his nap and instead of wanting to go have a snack, he just wanted to read books!
After snack time...books!  All I can say is "Atta boy!"
Well, that's a wrap on our week.  We still have snow covering the ground, but hopefully some warmer weather on the way!

Book Review: Ascent from Darkness

I just finished reading Ascent From Darkness by Michael Leehan.  As the back of the book says “Ascent From Darkness relates Michael’s gripping, real-life encounters, enslavement to the powers of darkness, and miraculous emancipation from the clutches of the enemy.

To me, this was a great story of being saved by grace.  Michael got wrapped up in a downward spiral that left his life in shambles.  Yet through it all God never gave up on him.  It is a great example of God’s redemptive power and how God continues to pursue us even when we are running in the opposite direction from Him.  His love never gives up on us.

All in all, this book is a great testimony to the transforming power of God’s love and grace.
