Week in Review

It's been another pretty good week as spring marches on and we get closer to summer!
Last weekend, we had Trigg baptised at church.  Thanks to Trendy Ties, Trigg and I had matching attire for the event!
The temps were pretty nice this week, getting into the 60's and 70's, so we got out the hammock!
It took a little adjusting, but we were able to get the whole family (not counting Riley) on the hammock and together for a pic!
Tuesday night, Trigg and I headed downtown to watch the Grand Blue Mile.  It was a nice evening and a great event.  The Drake Relay's have done a really nice job with this event and getting the community involved!
We also celebrated Derek's birthday (33!) with dinner at Americana downtown.  We had a lot of fun and lots of laughs, as always.
Trigg also got some new and bigger jammies...Mr. Fix-it!
That pretty much sums up our week.  Next week is Tulip Time and I have to say out dutch outfits are ready to go and looking awesome!

Week in Review

Tuesday we headed to Pella, Trigg and I are having matching dutch outfits made and Lola had them ready for us to try on to finalize measurements.
We are all excited to participate in this year's Tulip Time!  The first weekend in May!
While in Pella, we had to check out all the great tulips.  With the warmer weather, all the beds are in full bloom!
We also had a lot of storms blow through this week, lots of branches and the oak trees dropped all the "green slimey's"
Trigg is noticing Riley more and more!  He keeps reaching for her, but Riley is doing a pretty good job of keeping her distance...
Chillin in my chair...
We ended this week with another big step...carrots!  That's right, we added carrots to the line up.
...and Trigg loved them!  That's really no surprise, going from oatmeal to carrots...who doesn't love more flavor!
Well that pretty much sums up our week.

Week in Review

It was a big week in our world...Trigg turned 6 months old this week! That is a "6" on his tie...but when he is sitting it is hard to see.
Trigg is definitely thrilled about hitting the 6 month mark!

Being older now, he gets to try some food! We ground up some oats and had some oatmeal!

Sitting patiently in his high chair...

...and down the hatch it goes! Day one of food was a success!

We also got all dressed up for Easter service at church!

...more food. Since Trigg is new to this whole eating game, I am modeling for him how to "open wide" because here comes the airplane!

Midway through the week we hit a cold spell, the temps fell from highs in the 80's to highs in the 50's. We had 3 night with a freeze warning so our roses, peonies, and hydrangea's all got blankets to help them sleep through the night.

We also played with our car and truck this week, well dad played with them and Trigg watched me roll them around the room and drive them into his feet!

We tried a new recipe this week that was fantastic, BBQ Chicken Pizza (thank you Pinterest!) (for some reason blogger keeps putting this picture on it side...sorry)

We also played a lot of air guitar this week...well we play a lot of "air" instruments: air electric guitar, air bass, air drums, air banjo, air piano, air trumpet...

We ended the week with our 6 month check up at the doctor and Trigg passed with flying colors!

6 Months!

Trigg turned 6 months old! So we busted out the 6 month tie and snapped a few pictures. It was pretty windy outside, so we opted for some pictures in his room.
We needed to get a little warmed up to the camera first...
Then out came the smiles and laughs!
Trigg has definitely found his feet and likes to grab a hold of them!Since we couldn't see the "6" very well on his tie, we tried a few pictures laying down...
"What do you mean you can't see my tie when I'm sitting..."
"How about now..."
It's hard to believe that Trigg is already 6 months old...the time has definitely gone by quickly! It seems like he is changing everyday and doing something new!

Easter

Our church had lots of Easter services, we decided to go Saturday evening. Trigg all dressed and ready for church!
Here we are in our Easter outfits!

Sunday, we headed down to Indianola. Aunt Christa and Trigg are excited about the Easter egg hunt!

Morgan showing me the egg that she colored blue...with a butterfly sticker. She made sure to show me her fancy earrings (her daddy picked them out for her!)

Trigg is super excited about his Easter basket with new photo album!

After lunch, we headed outside for the egg hunt. Grandpa sure did a good job at hiding the eggs!

Piper and Morgan searching the yard for pink and blue eggs!

Morgan had to search low and high...and with a little help from her dad, she can get the eggs that were hidden up high!

...she found another one!

Trigg was napping for the main egg hunt, but once he woke up he managed to find a few eggs!

Found 'em!

Happy Easter!

Grandma and Grandpa with Trigg

After the egg hunt, Trigg wanted to test out the swing...he loved it!

We had a great Easter, lots of fun, good food and plenty of laughs. Hope you had a great Easter too!

Week in Review

This week brought more sunshine and more plants in bloom! I cut some lilacs from our bush to bring inside!
Trigg sporting his shorts and short sleeves early in the week.

Last Sunday we had some friends over for lunch on the deck and kabobs on the grill!

As the week progressed the temperatures started to get cooler...well the 60's and 70's instead of the 80's, so it is still really nice spring weather! Trigg wearing his elephant on a skateboard t-shirt!

We got out the mesh bag with an ice cube to help that little tooth that is coming in...Trigg loved it!

What a dude, chillin on the couch with his ice cube!

The thing about ice...it melts and the elephant got a bath. No big deal, because once Trigg finished his ice cube, it was bath time for him too!

We also found out this week, that Trigg might suffer from seasonal allergies like his dad. After some walks and having the house opened up, Trigg was sneezing, runny nose and red watery eyes...poor little guy. We have our 6 month appointment coming up, so we are going to check with the doctor and hopefully fight these allergies!

That pretty much wraps up our week, Good Friday service tonight at church and then Easter! Hope you had a good week too!
