We packed up the car and headed to the Smoky Mountains for a little vacation in Gatlinburg, TN! We met our friends the Kopps down there for an epic adventure!
We stayed in Gatlinburg and there are so many trails and waterfalls to explore!
We went up to Clingmans Dome for a great view of the Smoky Mountains...it was raining so we didn't get any pictures...but from there, we picked up the Appalachian Trail and hiked on that for about 1/2 mile!
As we were driving, we found all these great look out spots!
And lots of waterfalls!
The pit of the trip was car trouble, our vehicle had some transmission issues, luckily we found a repair shop that could get us in the same day and get us back on the road. The downside was we had about a 3 hour wait...without a car (and they had some classy shopping next door...)
So we made the most of it and walked down the road about 1/2 mile to a helicopter tour!
Best use of 3 hours!
Back in our vehicle, we found this spot for some white water rafting, it was family friendly, so there weren't too many rough rapids!

It rained a lot...good thing we don't mind getting wet.

We had a great trip with the Kopps, despite some car troubles, lots to explore and discover in the Smoky Mountains. We did see a couple bears...one right off of the deck at our VRBO!
