Santa Rosa, FL - wrap up

We had crazy weather while we were in Florida. The dudes has a ocean fishing adventure scheduled that got cancelled due to bad weather. Joni and Kim were going to parasail...cancelled due to bad weather. We went on a sunset dolphin tour that we made it 15 mins out in the boat and had to turn around due to rain...down pour. We all got soaked going from the dock back to our car... yet there was still plenty of sunshine!

The house where we stayed had a pool...that was a ton of fun!

Since the fishing excursion was cancelled, we stopped at a fish market to get fish

I love cooking, so I cooked up the fish that night, fresh scallops were amazing!

We made a stop at one more state park to try and find some alligators...didn't see any

And then a late flight home...this little traveler was tuckered out!

All in all, we had a great trip. Lot of fun in the sun with good friends. It was fun being on vacation with friends, the kids got along great and there was plenty of laughter!

Can't wait for our next friends-trip!

Santa Rosa, FL - Beach!

The beaches in Santa Rosa Florida are amazing! Miles of white sand beaches! Through our VRBO, we got some beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and skim boards...so we headed to the beach everyday to play!

Santa Rose - Crab Island

With the weather being hit and miss, we decided to rent a boat and head out to Crab Island. We have read great reviews about this spot. It is off shore but only about 2 to 3 feet deep. Lots of boats anchor out there and play in the water. There is even float restaurants out in Crab Island! We got this double decker pontoon boat with a slide off the back...here we go!

Because we had so many people in our party, we also had to rent a jet ski so that we could all get out there together, which turned out to be pretty fun! Derek gave all the kids tours of the bay!

Crab Island was a lot of fun, the boat was a ton of fun. We ended up renting it for the early shift, we picked the boat up at 10 and had it till 2pm, which worked out great because we were one of the first boats out to crab island and were able to find a good spot to park. By the time we left at 2, there were 100's of boats and I had to walk us out pulling the anchor rope so that we wouldn't hit another boat!

Santa Rosa, FL - 30A

We traveled to Florida with 2 other families and shared lodging. For one day, we planned a separate family day. We headed down the 30A highway and rented some beach bikes! Let's roll!

The bike trails go for miles in each direction and right along the beach! The sun was shining and we were smiling!

First stop, the Donut Hut for some tasty treats. A balloon artist was outside making balloon animals, a flower for B, an alligator for Trigg and a tiger for G!
