Bathroom Remodel

It seems to happen on every project, when I'm ready to start with demo, we get after it and I forget to take before pictures...anyway, this project we tackled the kids bathroom! The boys were excited to help with the demo and swing hammers...but we didn't swing hammers, mainly crowbars to peel up the old linoleum floor.
This is the before picture of what the vanity looked like, lots of honey oak and pretty plain.
And full on demo, floors gone, ceiling scrapped, old light fixture, walls patched and sprayed with texture.
New floors are in, I used LVP (luxury vinyl planks), they snap together and are waterproof. These don't require underlayment, so it was a pretty quick install!
 Close up on the floor
I sanded down the vanity and gave it a light gray color.
On of my favorite features are these outlet covers I found on Amazon, SnapPower outlet cover, they replace the old cover but have two prongs that touch the sides of the outlet...
those prongs then power the 3 LED lights in the outlet cover! Makes a nightlight for the bathroom without using an outlet!
And it has a light detector, so when the lights go on, the LED lights turn off. Pretty slick!
Back to the bathroom, floors went down under the washer and dryer and that area got a coat of paint!
Next up, new light fixtures. We tried the Edison bulbs but it was a little too much amber glow, so we eventually swapped those out for globe bulbs.
On the vanity, I found these Rev-A-Shelf hinges on Amazon
The drawer right under the sink has always been a fixed, faux drawer. I detached the drawer front and added these hinges.
Then I added these plastic trays and this shelf now holds toothpaste and toothbrushes!
These hinges are pretty slick, they are hidden and fold down the drawer front!
 Next up, the regular drawers
I added handles to these, which makes a big difference.
And here is the final product, redone vanity!
1 more hidden feature is on Blythe's side of the sink, being only 2, she can't reach the sink to brush her teeth...
So I added a hidden step, it slides right under the main door and is high enough for her to reach the sink!
The drawer slides I used are rated up to 100 pounds, so it should do the trick for a while!
It slides right under the bottom of the vanity and once the door is closed, it is out of sight!
 Test run...works great!
A few other items, hand painted sign above the toilet "hello sweet cheeks!" Both boys rolled their eyes after I hung that one up!
I framed out the mirror with trim to make it more visual weight
Towel rack behind the door to hold the towels
and there you have it...a remodeled bathroom!
Small project but a pretty big impact on the look of this space!
