OC Weekend part 2

Sunday was a joint birthday party for Addy and Toby!  There was a great spread for lunch and then the birthday girl opened up her gifts...
 ...and the birthday boy too!
 After gifts, time for cake!
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you..."
Toby with his first slice of cake...
The Comfort's and the birthday girl!
 ...and the birthday boy!
We had a great weekend in Orange City.  We had a lot of fun and played hard, Trigg was worn out for the car ride home, which worked out well for us!  Thanks for having us for the weekend Rob and Erin!

Weekend in the OC

This past weekend we headed up to Orange City to spend a weekend with the Vande Lune's.  They are preparing to move to Haiti, so we thought it would be fun to spend a weekend together before they move in the fall.  We got there Friday evening around supper time, played a little, put the kiddo's to bed and then played Ticket to Ride with Rob and Erin!
Saturday was nearly perfect weather!  We started off the day jumping on the trampoline!
Heather and I were informed that each of the three girls have boyfriends...Issac, Brenden and Brett!  I asked if they have had "play dates"..."No, we don't go on dates"  "Then how do you know he is your boyfriend?"  "I just know" was the response I got...
 Addy strikes a pose!
Trigg was all smiles to play with his cousin's!
We got a group shot making our best silly faces!
After lunch we had "science experiments"!
First up, we added some vinegar into a bottle...filled a balloon with baking soda...slipped the balloon onto the top of the bottle...
...lift the balloon up, dumping the baking soda into the vinegar and watch it inflate!  We also did the Mento's in a 2-liter of soda...erupting soda!
After our science experiments, the girls headed to the shade for pedicures done by Auntie Heather...complete with their favorite book/magazine and drinks!
 Freshly painted toes!
 The finished product!
In the afternoon we hopped on bikes, wagons and trikes and played in the front yard!  Toby and Trigg loved riding around in the wagon.
"Here, hold on to me if it gets too bumpy!"
Rob put some training wheels on the little bike, and Addy jumped right on!
 The dudes in the wagon!
Gracie riding on 2 wheels for the first time!  By the end of the night, she had it down!
Rob hooked up the tag-a-long bike and took Karys and Addy for rides around the block, they both loved it!
We had a ton of fun on Saturday, lots of laughs!  After the kiddo's went to bed, we again played Ticket to Ride and I was able to redeem myself, tying Erin for the win on the first game...and then she beat us all by 100 points on the second game!

Week in Review

With Monday being Memorial Day and pretty warm outside, we headed up to the splash park to play in the water!  We played hard and Trigg couldn't stay awake on the 5 block walk home!
We had some sweet dance parties in the kitchen this week!
...and of course, plenty of jumping in the jump-a-roo!
We also split some of our day lilies this week and played in the flower garden!
Not a lot happening this week, but we are headed up to Orange City for the weekend, so there should be plenty of pictures!

Slumber Party!

Friday night, Nathan came over to our house for a slumber party!  We started the party with some old school Nintendo 64!
Nathan then taught us the "Tootie - ah - ta" dance from his pre-k graduation program!
Saturday morning, we loaded up the car and headed to the Reiman Gardens in Ames to check out the lego exhibit!
Heather and Trigg were excited to find the butterfly built from legos!
Even this sign was built out of legos!
The impressive hummingbird and flower sculpture!
We kept exploring the gardens and found giant lily pads and a koi fish in the pond!
Nathan mowed the grass with the lego mower!
 Full size lego man!
...and what's this!  The Worlds Largest Garden Gnome!
Bison and a calf grazing on the hillside.
With all the searching and exploring of the gardens, we took a break in the chairs to put up our feet!
Back at the butterfly!  The gardens are awesome and the lego sculptures are worth checking out, we would highly recommend a trip to Ames to see it all!
We got back in time to head up to the splash park on opening day of the pool!  With temps in the 90's, it was worth the walk up the street!  Trigg was super excited for his first visit to the pool!
Nathan jumped right into the freezing cold water!
Mr Turtle also enjoyed his time at the pool, although he didn't see much since his head was in Trigg's mouth!
Nathan showed us his trick of sitting on the fountain!
All in all we had a great time at the pool!
We had a great time with Nathan and can't wait for our next sleep over!  Nathan's goal is to have 3 sleepovers this summer, 1 down...2 to go!

Week in Review

Not a lot happening around the Comfort house this week that we took pictures of...although Trigg did get a new shirt...
With beagle puppies that look like Riley!
We also found an old cell phone and Trigg loves chatting (chewing) on the phone
With summer right around the corner...it was time for some flip flops!
Check me out...my first pair of flip flops!
Looking pretty cool in our one piece summer outfit!
We also got a new furnace and air conditioner this week...but I didn't take pictures of those...Nathan comes for a sleep over tonight, so I am sure there will be plenty of more pictures soon!
