Balloons...kind of

Saturday evening we headed back down to Indianola for the last night of the National Balloon Classic. The Pella Vande Lune's meet us there and the Pine's came down from A-town. Saturday night usually draws a big crowd and this year was no exception.
My parents hooked us up with passes into the sponsor tent where we received the royal treatment. Here are the Pine's, Joni, little Isaiah and Derek enjoying the evening.
Miya enjoying an ice cream cone.
Chad and Shay enjoying good company, good times and a good view.
Our niece Morgan even came out to enjoy the balloons, she is sporting her new shades! I suggested that my dad should be a pair just like them.
New friendships were made as well
Isaiah enjoying his time on the Central blanket, he knows a good thing when he sees it, Go Dutch!
The only thing missing from this wonderful evening were the balloons. Unfortunately, the winds were too strong that they canceled the flight. This was the first time for the Pine's and the Vande Lune's at the balloons, and needless to say, their first time was a little disappointing. But some of the balloons inflated halfway to remove their sponsor banners, so we took advantage of the night and walked out on the field for some photos.
All smiles!

The Pine's family photo, we tried so hard to get Derek to wear the Moby wrap, but he refused.

Piggy back ride!
After a long day, Derek had a sleepy boy on his hands.
The day draws to a close with only a kite flying, no balloons.

It is true, we were a bit disappointed about not seeing the balloons fly - but we had a great time anyway! To redeem the night, we did get to eat the hugest ice cream sandwich ever!! It rocked!!
