Balloon Classic 5k

Friday night, Heather and I headed down to Indianola for the Balloon Classic 5k Road Race. This kicks off the National Balloon Classic! My former Central College teammate and friend Caleb Brown mentioned to me that he was racing and encouraged me to sign up.
...and we are off, I am wearing my white SCRC jersey and Caleb is in the white hat.
There weren't a lot of people in the race and I managed to stay ahead of all of them...

...to the finish line in 1st place!

Imagine that, 2 Central boys taking 1st and 2nd at a race held by Simpson College...oh how sweet it is!

Being the hometown boy, I had a cheering section: Heather, my mom, my sister and her daughter, my grandpa and my aunt Susan (they were in town for the balloons)!

It was a fun race and a hot night. Big thanks to all who came out and cheered me on!
