BeaverDash

This past weekend was the annual Beaverdale Fall Festival. Each year the festival features the BeaverDash, a 5k run. This year marked my 4th year to run in the BeaverDash. The race was Saturday morning and it was a great morning for a race. I love this race because the start is only 6 blocks from our house, so I can warm up to the start line and I feel like I am running in my own backyard. Check out the results for the BeaverDash.
Here I am running the streets of Beaverdale.
Our friend Caleb, in green, running down his competition.
Here I am heading to the finish line.
Another good friend Nora, in red, makes the final turn before the finish.

Jenna and Rachael came to cheer on Caleb.

One highlight of the race for me was the winner, Matthew Gabrielson. He won very easily in a time of 14:29. He is an elite athlete sponsored by Reebok and he finished 8th in the US Olympic Trials where he ran a 13.38 for the 5k, very impressive. He beat me by 2 minutes, but it was fun to see him run, even if he was running away from me.
